The primary objective of ARD's livelihood programming in Somalia is to contribute to improved resilience and increased adaptive capacities of communities and households in order to protect those livelihoods from ongoing shocks.
Programme Outcomes:
Increased capabilities of communities to respond to and cope with recurrent shocks and stressors.
Protection of livelihood assets through the establishment of social safety nets.
Programme Activities:
Conducting participatory, in-depth, vulnerability assessments and systems analysis at the community level;
Promoting sustainable production and diversification of income by providing training to beneficiaries and enhancing household community assets
