Learning as a Pathway Forward

Conflict, displacement, and poverty disrupt more than daily life — they disrupt a child’s chance to learn. ARD promotes inclusive and quality education opportunities for children and youth, working to improve learning outcomes and build a brighter future for those whose education has been interrupted or denied. Our work spans classroom rehabilitation, learning materials, and support for teachers and schools across the communities we serve.

We believe education cannot wait for stability to return. Even amid displacement and crisis, children need the chance to learn, and communities need schools that can welcome them. Our programmes are designed to restore that opportunity quickly, rebuilding not just classrooms, but the routines and hope that come with them.

What We Provide

SCHOOL AND CLASSROOM REHABILITATION

Years of conflict and neglect have left many schools unsafe or unusable. We rehabilitate classrooms and school infrastructure, creating safe, functional spaces where learning can resume. These improvements often extend beyond a single school, restoring a sense of normalcy and stability to the wider community around it.

LEARNING MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES

A child cannot learn without the basic tools of education. We provide textbooks, learning materials, and school supplies to students and teachers, removing one of the most immediate barriers to consistent attendance and academic progress. These materials are distributed with particular attention to the schools and communities furthest from existing support.

INCLUSIVE AND GIRLS' EDUCATION

Displacement, poverty, and gender inequality keep many children, and especially girls, out of school entirely. We work to remove these barriers, supporting inclusive access for displaced and marginalized children while addressing the specific obstacles that prevent girls from enrolling and remaining in school. Every intervention is designed with equity in mind, not as an afterthought.
